Gal Gadot is reportedly staying under the radar.

Gal Gadot may be making an effort to keep a low profile after receiving some immense backlash from followers over a tweet she made about the violence happening in Gaza in May.
The Israel-born Gal Gadot was the target of online criticism after she shared an all text post about the violence happening in the Middle East that saw exchanges of rocket fire between Israel and Hamas that many argued was disproportionately impacting the Palestinian people.
Now, a new rumor from Daniel Richtman suggests that 36-year-old Gal Gadot may be trying to keep her head down and out of the spotlight until the controversy fully blows over.
“Gal as you can see is staying low for awhile till people stop talking about her post about Israel,” Richtman notes.
At the time, Gal Gadot was accused of taking too much of a “both sides” approach to the largely nuanced conflict.
“My heart breaks. My country is at war. I worry for my family, my friends. I worry for my people. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long,” Gal Gadot wrote in May at the height of the conflict. “Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbors deserve the same. I pray for the victims and their families, I pray for this unimaginable hostility to end, I pray for our leaders to find the solution so we could live side by side in peace. I pray for better days.”
The tweet’s message promoting peace caught backlash from readers who felt Gal Gadot was mischaracterizing the two sides as “neighbors” and failed to address the disproportionate death toll for Palestinians. Some also felt she completely ignored the human rights issues the Israelis are accused of. Several acknowledged that Gadot’s two-years as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces may have made her biased, despite it being a requirement for citizens over 18.
While it may behoove Gal Gadot to lay low for a while, the truth is that she doesn’t seem to have walked back her social media presence too much since the May 12 post. She continues to promote her collaboration with National Geographic and shared a few personal photos with her followers since then. In addition, May marked the end of her pregnancy with her third child. People notes that Gadot took to Twitter on June 29 to share a photo of her new baby, Daniella, along with her husband, Jaron Varsano, and their other two daughters Alma, 9, and Maya, 4.
So, although Gal Gadot has perhaps been a little bit more quiet on social media, it may simply be the fact that she was in the final weeks of her pregnancy and wasn’t exactly planning any big social media content.
Alternatively, Gal Gadot my be feeling a little shy about poking her head up in general these days after other efforts to share content on social media haven’t been well received. For example, Vanity Fair notes that she regrets organizing a collection of celebrities singing “Imagine” at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown that was, by-and-large, very poorly received by fans.
Regardless of any backlash, it’s doubtful that Gal Gadot will stay out of the spotlight for too long given that she’s already signed on for a third Wonder Woman film and has other irons in the fire like a Cleopatra film and a rumored role in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. All of those projects will likely require her doing at least some press as well as promoting them on her social media.
While it may be a while before fans hear her thoughts on the conflict in the Middle East, it’s doubtful they’ve heard the last of Gal Gadot.
