Dukes of Hazzard is a cult classic comedy from 2005, and one iconic moment was Jessica Simpson in daisy duke shorts and a red crop top. Now the 40-year-old movie star, singer, and business owner has slipped back into the cutoff denim shorts that were named after her character after 16 years, which can now be worn just like her from her official store.

Looking at the image above, you can see one of the most known shots from the movie showing Jessica Simpson in character.

Below you can see an image from her shop that shows off a new spring outfit that is available to be purchased. The shorts that are on the Jessica Simpson store is discounted to $35.60 at the time of writing, are seen with a crocheted sweater, a long-sleeve top, and a wide brim hat as the sun shines behind her with the rolling mountains. For her feet, she is sporting the platform sandals, the Still Wedges in the animal print, which also comes in pink or black.

And below are even more images where Jessica Simpson once again strapped on the memorable shorts:

Loosely based on the long-running series of the same name that ran from 1979 to 1985, The Dukes of Hazzard revolves around a group of cousins who have their own moonshine operation. The 2005 comedy did not do great at the box office with a $50 million budget; it grossed approximately $111 million as it was released in 3,785 theaters. It starred Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke, hence the shorts, along with Jackass‘ Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott (American Pie), and the late Burt Reynolds. It was directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, who would go off to work on a variety of TV shows like Psych and Chuck, then in 2018, he would direct a sequel to his 2001 cult classic Super Troopers. The script was penned by Jonathan L. Davis, who only is credited for the 2005 comedy, and John O’Brien, who wrote 2004’s Starsky & Hutch with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.

The Jessica Simpson Collection line of clothing started in 2005. Beginning as a shoe line that had its tie to the founder of Camuto Group, Vince Camuto, the business would grow into a billion-dollar company (as reported in 2015). While things have changed up over the years, with Sequential Brands having its hand in her business, it is still popular across the retail world. Sold online, it has expanded into other areas like Macy’s.

Jessica Simpson might be losing her partnership with Sequential Brands soon. The company is going bankrupt and will likely sell its stake. Other assets within the company will most likely be sold off as it is facing this financial crisis. Things could change as the plans are not set in stone yet, but it is likely as its stock has continued to drop, currently at $9, which was previously at $35 back in March.

Outside of Sequential Brands working with the Jessica Simpson Collection, it owns and licenses from other clothing and shoe lines like Joe’s Jeans and Heelys, which was sold for $11 million back in April.
