Trouble On Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, Why He Stormed Off The Set?

The rumor mill about Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero flick The Batman is running on full steam, much of which alleges that there are all sorts of turmoils surrounding the production. There’s also talk that Robert Pattinson, who’ll be the latest actor to become the Caped Crusader, may have some issues with “sharing” the character.
The latest batch of gossip comes from Reddit user SpideyForever245, who replied to a thread that started rounding up the latest rumors around The Batman. While the original post mostly summarized some of the main characters’ motivations and the overall mood of Gotham City this go-round, this post addresses a possible inner conflict going on at Warner Bros. Some of which has apparently factored into Robert Pattinson allegedly storming off the set as a result.
SpideyForever245 claims that there is a “civil war” of sorts between Warner Bros. and Discovery, which is under the WB’s umbrella. The post claims that Warner Bros. wants to have a little fun at the expense of impassioned Zack Snyder fans, specifically the infamous “Martha” scene from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, there are some apparent issues between Robert Pattinson and the studio that are complicating things even further.
The post alleges that Robert Pattinson isn’t too keen on “sharing” the character of Batman with other actors. This is painted as a reference to Ben Affleck, who played Batman in a handful of DC Extended Universe films, including “The Snyder Cut” of Justice League earlier this year. Pattinson allegedly wants Affleck pushed out for good, while Henry Cavill, who played Superman to his Bat-fleck, is hoping to talk Discovery into him returning.
While Affleck’s future with the character has uncertain for a while now, it’s unclear if Michael Keaton factors into Robert Pattinson’s alleged reactions. The Spider-Man: Homecoming star first donned the cowl in 1989’s Batman and its sequel, Batman Returns, two years later. It was recently confirmed that Keaton will be playing Batman once again, this time in the stand-alone Flash movie, and act as a mentor to Ezra Klein’s Scarlet Speedster.
There’s also the falling out Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves apparently had onset, which claims the Twilight star wouldn’t return to the set until the director apologized. Warner Bros., meanwhile, is apparently trying to mend fences between the two creatives.
Although Robert Pattinson isn’t just concerned about former (or current) actors who’ve played Batman in the past. He’s also allegedly concerned that co-star Zoe Kravitz, who’s playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman, will “overshadow” him. He’s apparently demanding to be in the editing room to keep his influence on the finished product, as well. There’s also the claim that The Batman is currently three hours long, which the studio wants to be trimmed down significantly.
Granted, these are rumors and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if there are shades of truth to be found, it could potentially dampen WB’s current approach of focusing on stand-alone superhero films.
