This is the kind of success that makes you an in-demand actress, the kind that can afford to be very choosy about which projects to sign onto. At this point, what is her motivation to stay with the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Can her career continue to flourish and grow by playing Carol Danvers indefinitely? She could just as easily employ her valuable time toward conquering another franchise. Or, signing on for movies likely to win her another Oscar. This must be a risk that Marvel President Kevin Feige is aware of, and he seems to have made a smart move to keep that from happening.

This has her replacing Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man as the face of the franchise. While our source didn’t know Kevin Feige’s inside reasons for making such a promise to Brie Larson, it seems like a brilliant way to keep her focused on her career at Marvel. We know that the actress has expressed an interest in many other franchises in the past. Early on in her career, she auditioned for roles in The Hunger Games, Terminator, and Star Wars.
