See Jeremy Renner’s New Hawkeye Costume, It’s Finally Purple Enough
We caught a glimpse of Jeremy Renner in his new Hawkeye costume for the upcoming Disney+ show and man is it ever purple.

It’s a time of mantle (or quiver)-passing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that’s going to include Jeremy Renner stepping away at some point in the near future. But before it happens he’s finally getting his own series on Disney+. And we are starting to get a look at what the Hawkeye character will look like in the new program as it focuses more on the Clint Barton story. The latest image we’ve got of the character has him in a hue we haven’t seen for the character yet on screen. But it’s more in line with the traditional character from the comic book pages. That’s right, Jeremy Renner is finally going full purple for this next show.
The image we got comes via @BRMarvelNews on Twitter and features Jeremy Renner posing with a definitively purple suit. It could be the new look for the character and would match a little more of what we’ve at times with Hawkeye. It’s unclear if this is going to be the permanent get-up for Hawkeye on the show, and it stands to reason we do see him maintaining some of the darker garb he wore in the Avengers movies. But this is a cool move for the character as he onboards another Hawkeye to take over at some point.
That’s because this new show will have Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton training Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop to be Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward. It’s unclear exactly how the show plans to go through this story or how they ultimately come together to form an arrow-shooting team of superheroes. But it’s part of how the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting younger and transitioning some of the original characters out of the mix.
It’s worth noting that Jeremy Renner might not be the only one going purple in this new show. This has been the traditional color for the Kate Bishop character as well and there’s some chance the move to the new uniform is part of how they are pairing together as a team during the mentorship period. The show is also set to explore some of the original Hawkeye’s time as Ronin as well, the vigilante we saw near in Avengers: Endgame. We pretty much know this outfit choice isn’t from that storyline.
We should get a chance to see Jeremy Renner take the small screen as Hawkeye in all his purple glory in late 2021. It should be a wide-ranging story that explores different points along Barton’s timeline with a number of different characters brought into the mix. It’s also going to introduce Alaqua Cox as Echo as well.
Again, this phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is all about passing the mantle from the previous generation to the one. It’s happening with Hawkeye just like it did with Captain America. But before it does, it’s cool to see Jeremy Renner don the purple garb and get to work in his final years playing the character.
