See The New Lars Homestead Built For Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Series
The obi-Wan Kenobi show is revisiting a familiar Star Wars location.

As production commences on the new Disney+ Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series, leaks are a certainty. We have one that may or may not be what it’s claiming.
The leak, coming from Noah Outlaw’s Twitter feed, apparently shows the series going back to a very familiar location, Tatooine. According to Outlaw, the posted photos show the Lars Homestead being built as the building seen resembles structures found on the desert planet. Of course, this could always be another Tatooine settlement or even Mos Eisley’s spaceport, but with names of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru on the cast list and Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse reprising those roles, many fans are attempting to put two and two together to come up with the Lars moisture farm where Luke Skywalker spent his youth. Take a peek at the photos and see if your conclusion is the Lars Homestead.
With Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru back in action for the Obi-Wan series, does this mean fans will also see, at some point, the introduction of a young Jedi, Master Luke Skywalker? Anything is possible. While plot details are quite scarce, what we do know if that Ewan McGregor is back as Obi-Wan and fans can’t be more excited for his return. Fans also got another thrill when it was announced shortly after that Hayden Christensen is also going to return as the infamous Darth Vader. Along with the two stars, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, Indira Varma, Sung Kang, and Benny Safdie are among some of the newcomers to the Star Wars universe.
Another big name that may or may not be joining the cast is Liam Neeson. To Star Wars fans, Neeson is known as Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan’s Jedi Master. But Jinn was killed in the first prequel, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and has not been seen since that time. The speculation surrounding a possible Neeson/Jinn return is that he would appear in flashback sequences or perhaps even as a Force Ghost to Obi-Wan. Neeson spoke about a possible return to Star Wars during an interview with Collider, where he was promoting his new movie The Marksman. Collider questioned if Neeson was aware that his many fans were wanting his return to Star Wars to which he responded, “I’ll be honest with you: I haven’t heard that at all.” He was then assured that it was true, to which Neeson asked if “Star Wars [is] starting to fade away from [the] cinema landscape?” Finally, when presented with the ultimate question if he’d consider a return, he smiled and said, “Sure, I’d be up for that, yeah.”
Again, not much is known about the direction Obi-Wan will take other than the official synopsis of the series, which reads per Games Radar: “The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.”
The new Obi-Wan Kenobi series is just one of many new Star Wars series set to premiere on the Disney+ streaming service. Along with The Mandalorian, Disney+ will be bringing The Book of Boba Fett, an Ahsoka Tano series, Rangers of the New Republic, Andor (which is a Rogue One prequel), a Lando Calrissian series, and The Acolyte. Disney+ will also be home to several Star Wars-related animated series that will start with Star Wars: The Bad Batch on May 4, 2021.
With the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan, the star looks to be taking on a more hands-on approach to the series as he joins Kathleen Kennedy (say it isn’t so!), Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, and series writer Joby Harold as one of the executive producers.
There is no premiere date set for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but as more information is released (or leaked), Giant Freakin Robot will be here to pass it along.
