Emma Watson Has Agreed To Return As Hermione For More Harry Potter?
Emma Watson could actually be headed back to the wizarding world.

One of the brightest stars who emerged from the wildly successful Harry Potter film adaptations was Emma Watson, the brilliant young actress who went on to add modeling and activism to her already impressive resume. Now, it seems that Watson is willing to return to the role that put her on the map and endeared her to millions, despite the fact that her big-screen story effectively concluded in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
Hollywood gossip writer Daniel Richtman brings word that Emma Watson has basically agreed to appear in more Harry Potter stories should the opportunity arise. This is merely a rumor at this point, but it actually is not the first we have heard of this. Richtman’s scoop complements our previous report, which said Emma Watson would be reprising her role as Hermione Granger in a Hermione-centric series spinning out of the main eight Harry Potter films. Not only that, but he has also been correct with his “predictions” before. He frequently speaks of trailer drops before they happen, casting announcements before the trades break them, and other bits of news that have fans clamoring for more of his scoops.
Emma Watson almost left the franchise after filming its fifth installment, 2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Her co-star Rupert Grint, who portrayed the lovable and sometimes frustrating Ron Weasley, also almost quit. Turns out being a Potter star isn’t glamorous all the time.
But regardless of the stress that came with starring in eight massively successful Harry Potter movies, it seems as though Emma Watson is ready to come back to her most famous role in a big way. We don’t know what form that will take or if it will even ever happen, but we have heard several times now that this is a possibility.
It will be interesting to see how Emma Watson would fit back into the Harry Potter universe, if she can at all. As stated above, Hermione Granger’s story is done, and aside from a supporting role in the Jack Thorne-scripted stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (which featured Noma Dumezweni in the role of Hermione), it is unclear where she would logically need to be next.
But since her Potter days, Emma Watson has become a versatile actress capable of selling us on all kinds of different parts. In addition to her role as Hermione, Watson has appeared in This Is The End, The Bling Ring, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Greta Gerwig’s recent Little Women adaptation, and several other high-profile films. She’s incredibly talented and it will be awesome to see how she changes the world next. She is also an ambassador for the United Nations and frequently immerses herself in women’s rights work.
What do you think, though? Should Emma Watson return to the role that helped make her, or should she move on to even bigger and better things? It may not be the best idea, honestly, but hey, if the studio has a solid idea, then we will see.
