This article is more than 2 years old
Aaron Taylor-Johnson died in Avengers: Age of Ultron as the super-speedster Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver. When WandaVision hit our television screens on Disney+, many wondered if the character would be making a return since he was the twin brother of Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch. When Pietro did show up, it shocked everyone by being the X-Men film series version of the character played by Evan Peters. However, the finale of the series revealed that this wasn’t actually that universe’s Quicksilver but an actor that was under the spell of Agatha Harkness. So, fans are now wondering if we will actually see Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver ever again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Well, we here at Giant Freakin Robot have some very good news for fans hoping Aaron Taylor-Johnson would show up once again. According to our trusted inside source – the same one that has provided Giant Freakin Robot with multiple confirmed exclusive scoops that have included Bruce Campbell appearing for a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Monica Rambeau being a main character in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, and Chloe Bennet returning as Quake for a new Marvel series – Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Marvel Studios are in the midst of talks regarding him returning as Quicksilver in some fashion. We aren’t sure what project this would be for and if it would be for a full resurrection, but that certainly sounds like the most likely scenario.
Depending on what the aftermath of Wanda’s actions will be in the next few Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows, it is very possible that she could rewrite reality to bring back her children, her version of Vision, and her real twin brother. If so, it would be quite a surprise to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson back in the role after everything that happened in WandaVision. And it would once again call into question just how powerful Wanda really is. Could it be the same version of her brother or possibly a Quicksilver from another reality? The possibilities are endless and there are a number of ways Marvel could go if they manage to get Aaron Taylor-Johnson back in the part.
At this point, fans definitely want to see a confirmation of the multiverse after two major teases in both WandaVision and Spider-Man: Far From Home. If that is how they decide to bring back Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff, it might act as a satisfying conclusion after the switcheroo WandaVision played on the audience. And it could end up explaining how mutants themselves are brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whatever the case may be, bringing back the original Quicksilver would assuredly mean that the powers-that-be at Marvel Studios would have bigger plans for the character in the future.
No matter what happens, it sounds like Marvel really wants to get Aaron Taylor-Johnson back as Quicksilver. That tells us they must have a strong idea for why they need his specific version back. Things are about to get a lot weirder and varied in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this is just more confirmation that all bets are about to be off.
