WandaVision Getting A Harry Potter Type Spinoff?
A new report suggests that after the popularity of WandaVision, Disney+ is looking to make a new series that would feature young witches in training.

What if Disney was making a series about a school that is built around burgeoning young sorcerers, being taught by the masters of the craft? Immediately Harry Potter’s Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry comes to mind, or maybe even Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. But instead, as reported by entertainment writer Mickey Sutton, Disney is looking to capitalize on the success of WandaVision with Strange Academy, a new series that is reportedly being developed for Disney+.
After the popularity of WandaVision, Disney is now rumored to be venturing down the Harry Potter road with Strange Academy and hoping Wanda Maximoff will be one of the main teachers of the young sorcerers in training. According to Sutton, Disney wants the series to happen and the plan is to bring it to Disney+.
Strange Academy is a new graphic novel series written by Skottie Young with art by Humberto Ramos. The series follows a group of young sorcerers with names like Emily Bright, Shaylee Moonpeddle, Doyle Dormammu, twin brothers Iric and Alvi, Guslaug, Zoe Laveau, Calvin Morse, Dessy, Toth, and Germán. They all make up the new recruits at the Strange Academy, which was founded by Stephen Strange, aka Doctor Strange. The New Orleans-set school is run by Strange, but employs Brother Voodoo, the Ancient One, Magik, Daimon Hellstrom, and the Scarlet Witch to lead the next generation of magic-makers.
While plans are supposedly in the early stages, the premise seems ripe for Disney+. With Elizabeth Olsen bringing in rave reviews for her wonderful performances throughout WandaVision, Disney hopes to further cash in on the Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. First, fans will have to see how things begin to tie together with the final episode of WandaVision.
After WandaVision, It is also rumored that Olsen’s Wanda will play a part in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, which also will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. She even hinted at it, though she stopped short of confirming, when she told Capital FM, “I assume you might [see Wanda in Spider-Man 3] if everyone’s in it, but I haven’t showed up to that party yet.” So, before Olsen can help usher in the new generation of sorcerers, she has plenty of business to tend to.
If Strange Academy were to come to fruition, it would more than likely take place in MCU’s Phase Five. Phase Four is locked and loaded with the features Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Marvel’s Phase 4 will also include the following series coming to Disney+: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.
As Marvel president Kevin Feige was introducing Mahershala Ali as the new Blade back in 2019, he also dropped some strong hints as to what Phase Five would look like. Based on his hint’s fans can expect to see Blade, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain Marvel 2, Fantastic Four, and Avengers 5. Right now, there seems to be plenty of room for Strange Academy if Feige and Disney want it to happen.
Elizabeth Olsen can now be seen in WandaVision, which airs its final episode on Disney+ on March 5th.
