Daisy Ridley To Return As Rey On The Mandalorian?
Despite saying that she's done for now with Star Wars, a new rumor says that Daisy Ridley could be appearing with The Mandalorian in a future project.

Ever since the surprise appearance of Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian’s second season finale, there have been countless rumors about who else might return to the Star Wars universe. While many of these rumors have hinted at returning characters from the original trilogy, a new rumor suggests we could see Daisy Ridley appear in a future project with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djardin.
This rumor comes from We Got This Covered, which says that an upcoming film or television show could see Daisy Ridley’s Rey meeting Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian. The rumor doesn’t specify that this meetup would happen on The Mandalorian or some other project, but considering The Mandalorian happens decades before the events of the sequel trilogy, something major would have to change for Rey to appear in The Mandalorian.
But in the past, Daisy Ridley has made it sound like she is done with Star Wars, at least for now. While both John Boyega and Oscar Isaac said they were done with the franchise as well, Ridley has said in regards to coming back, “I don’t know if that’s possible.” In another interview, Ridley said, “I say never say never, but to me, Rise of Skywalker was tied up with a bow.” While these interviews occurred before the release of Rise of Skywalker, it’s unclear if Ridley’s opinion on her story’s conclusion has changed at all.
But considering that The Mandalorian seems like it’s going to act as a bridge between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy, it would sort of make sense if there was eventually some crossover between the two projects. Jon Favreau has said that The Mandalorian will explore the origins of the First Order, which was introduced in The Force Awakens. While The Mandalorian would probably have to have a major time jump to have Daisy Ridley appear alongside Din Djardin, it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility for a young Rey to appear in the future.
Yet as previously mentioned, the rumor doesn’t say that Daisy Ridley would necessarily appear on The Mandalorian, but rather, that the two could appear in a future project. It seems extremely unlikely that this would be Patty Jenkins’ upcoming Rogue Squadron film, since that film will focus on starfighter pilots. While it could be Taika Waititi’s film, it should also be noted that Kevin Feige is making a Star Wars film, and combining different character’s stories into one larger story is kind of his thing.
But with so many other Star Wars series on the way, there are many options for a possible Daisy Ridley cameo. The Mandalorian will be getting multiple spinoffs, including Ahsoka, and Rangers of the New Republic, but again, it seems like all these shows are happening too early in the timeline for Daisy Ridley to appear as Rey. Even with all these various shows, they all seem too early to start crossing over with characters from the sequel trilogy.
At this point, it seems this rumor of Daisy Ridley appearing alongside The Mandalorian is extremely premature. Ridley has made it seem like she’s done with Star Wars for at least the near future, and there’s no real project coming soon that makes sense for her character to show up. Without a major Mandalorian time jump or a project that happens much later in the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, it seems like this will simply remain a rumor.
