Marilyn Manson Fired After Accusations Against Him

We are a month into 2021 and various celebrities have already had some damning accusations leveled against them. From Armie Hammer’s alleged cannibalism to some alarming claims about Marilyn Manson, this year has seen multiple big-name stars fall from grace. In the latter’s case, the fall still seems to be in progress.
According to Bloody Disgusting, musician Marilyn Manson’s career is taking a hit after actress Evan Rachel Wood and multiple other women came forth with some serious abuse allegations against him. Additionally, Shudder confirmed in a recent tweet that Marilyn Manson’s upcoming episode of Creepshow, a popular anthology series on which Manson was scheduled to appear, is officially canceled. The episode had been completed but will no longer air. We probably won’t ever see it, and that may be a good thing.
Marilyn Manson will also no longer be appearing in the third season of the hit Starz series American Gods. That is really big news, and it will probably discourage other networks from working with the famed singer/musician.
It will be really interesting to see how all of this plays out. The fact that multiple women have come forward about their horrific experiences with Marilyn Manson is certainly worth some in-depth investigating. I hope that this is resolved in a way that brings peace and closure to the survivors. Creating a safe environment for survivors of abuse to come forward is paramount, and it is encouraging that this is being taken so seriously. We still have a long way to go before justice for victims and survivors is normalized, but this appears to be a good start.
It is also great to see so many studios and networks standing with these women and taking a strong stand against domestic abuse. Hopefully, this situation with Marilyn Manson sets a precedent for how this stuff will be handled in the future.
Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood started dating in 2007. At the time, she was 19 and he was 38. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has since denied the allegations, calling them “horrible distortions of reality.” Here’s the thing to consider, though: several women have come forth with similar claims. And, in 2018, Manson had a police report filed against him for sex crimes that allegedly took place in 2011. Bottom line: this is not the first time he has been accused of horrible things, and this must be taken seriously if any kind of real change is to be made.
In addition to his role on American Gods, Manson guest-starred on HBO’s The New Pope last year, and has also appeared in the final season of Sons of Anarchy and the third season of the WGN show Salem. It sounds like his career may be over now, though. His record label has also announced that it will no longer work with him.
We will have to wait and see what the further ramifications will be regarding these accusations against Marilyn Manson. It will be intriguing to see how this gets treated in the legal world, but the court of public opinion seems to have already made its verdict.
