Riverdale Star Lili Reinhart Was Replaced By An Imposter
In a truly odd story, Lili Reinhart fell victim to an imposter who conducted interviews pretending to be the Riverdale actress.

Lili Reinhart has experience playing characters on the screen. But I don’t think she has too much experience with other people play her. But that’s been the case in the short term in what amounts to a pretty crazy story. That’s because recently there was someone else pretending to be Reinhart and even did a few interviews with reputable publications who thought they were talking to the actual actress.
Look, we are used to these days a celebrity taking to Twitter or Instagram, saying something silly (or worse) and then issuing an apology claiming the account was “hacked”. But it isn’t often we get someone just impersonating a celebrity well enough to get multiple interviews out of it. But this is what Riverdale star Lili Reinhart is saying regarding recently published interviews with “her” in Seventeen and The Daily Express (a British tabloid).
Apparently, a mystery person, who apparently has been identified through vetting of the two interviews and contact information, impersonated both Lili Reinhart and the latter’s publicist in order to gain access to the writers. What’s even crazier is that the imposter simply conducted relatively normal interviews, talking about Season Five of Riverdale as well as some of Reinhart’s more recent movies. Typically in these prank situations, there’s some kind of weird bombshell or an attempt to discredit either the celebrity or the publication. But not here. I guess they just want to pretend to be an actress for a bit. That was the payoff.
Once Lili Reinhart and her camp reached out to Seventeen and The Daily Express with the error, both were quick to take the interviews down. It’s unclear if they will pursue any action against the imposter, though I don’t really know what the point of that would be. If anything, it’s more on the two publications for not having a stricter vetting process in place or at least a fact-checker to ensure this kind of thing doesn’t happen. That being said, considering she pulled it off with two different outfits means it was a solid con probably.
Lili Reinhart has been playing Betty Cooper on CW’s Riverdale for its first four seasons. But she started to gain a little more fame when she had a bigger role in 2018’s Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez. The two play strippers who angle to profit mightily off their clients. The film was a box office and critical hit.
Her latest film, Chemical Hearts came out over the summer and Lili Reinhart plays a young lady with a physical handicap who struggles with the fallout from an accident. It’s a young adult romance that received solid, if unspectacular, reviews. Reinhart though showed she was capable of a little more range in this movie, playing a clearly troubled teenager.
Whether we ever get more information on who was in fact impersonating Lili Reinhart remains to be seen. It’s such an odd story, though one that likely doesn’t escalate beyond this point simply because there were really no salacious details given.
