Tom Holland will be back as everyone’s favorite web-slinger in the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man 3. Fans cannot wait to see what is in store considering all of the wild casting announcements that have been coming out in the last few months. What is the deal with all these different Spider-Men? Well, we might have some news that clears up some of the confusion.

Mikey Sutton over at Geekosity is claiming to have learned about some crucial plot points about Tom Holland’s upcoming sequel. This is unconfirmed but Sutton is often a good source of news, so we do want to offer up a potential SPOILER WARNING for anyone who decides to read any further. If these details end up being true, then you will know a lot more of what to expect when you finally see Spider-Man 3.

According to Sutton’s source, Spider-Man 3 will be focused on the relationship between Tom Holland’s Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man and Zendaya’s MJ. The story apparently is going to be driven by how MJ feels about her boyfriend being Spider-Man and how dangerous it is going to be for her now that his identity is out in the open. The villains are going to be coming for MJ in order to hurt or get to Peter.

But, that does not account for all the wacky multiverse stuff we know about Spider-Man 3. According to Geekosity, the events of WandaVision are going to be what leads to Tom Holland running into other Spider-Men from different universes. Supposedly, Spider-Man 3 will act as the middle part of a multiverse trilogy starting with WandaVision and ending with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And there will be a major reveal in Spider-Man 3: the demonic villain Mephisto will appear towards the end of the movie and will continue through into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

As far as how Tom Holland will interact with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield? Geekosity is reporting that they show up in the second half of the film and that there will be “an extraordinary sequence with the trio battling their respective villains.” There will also be time travel and interdimensional travel going on. It certainly sounds like Spider-Man 3 is going to live up to the anticipation it has been cultivating.

But it’s not all good news. If this report is correct, the ending will see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man getting help from Doctor Strange to erase everyone’s memory of his identity. This will include MJ and it will come with a cost. Interestingly, Mephisto did a similar thing in the comics where he reset the status quo for Peter Parker, but it meant that he had to give up his love of Mary Jane Watson forever. Could it be Mephisto who ends up assisting Peter with his identity crisis?

Again, all of this is unsubstantiated at this point, but Mikey Sutton is often very good with his info. If these plot points end up being true, it sounds like Tom Holland is going to deliver one of the wildest and most eventful Spider-Man movies of all time.
