One of the most exciting Disney hotel plans is the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. While they’ve shown us a few pieces of concept art in the past, we now have a look at physical mockups showing what a starship cabin at the hotel will be like.
Take a look at the Disney hotel plans right here:
Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared the new images of the Disney hotel rooms during an IAAPA virtual conference on Monday. The renderings give a better idea of what the average room at the hotel will look like.
There will be a queen-sized bed with two bunk beds in the wall. While the clean lines of the white paneling and sigil on the bedspread offer cabin vibes, it’s the “window” into space that’s the room’s coolest feature.
From the pictures, we can see that the cabins are on the small side. Some have already mentioned that they offer “luxurious claustrophobia”. This actually seems to be part of the idea behind the experience. The rooms are designed to feel like a ship’s cabin bunk. At the same time, they are designed to be more like a room on a cruise ship than a typical Disney hotel. Like a cruise ship, booking a stay here is about a total experience. Guests won’t be able to book a single night. The costs for the resort will be all-inclusive and require at least a two night, three-day stay.
Most of that time will be spent within the Disney hotel itself, where they will be offering guest experiences like lightsaber training. Guests will also be able to visit the ship’s bridge and interact with Star Wars characters during their stay. Leaving the Disney hotel will be reserved for an excursion to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, also known as the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. Everything the company has released about the Disney resort so far indicates the experience will be all-inclusive.
While pricing for the Disney hotel hasn’t been officially released yet, there are rumors. To save your spot in a cabin for one person, two nights and three days will total $3,300. The cabins shown here are expected to be allowed up to five passengers. If five people stay in a single cabin, the total for the two nights would be $7,200, which is less than half the price per person.
Of course, this pricing is for the regular sized cabins we’ve seen in the renderings. It has been said that there will be 32 regular cabins on each floor as well as two first-class cabins for those willing to spend more.
We don’t yet know if these rumored prices will hold true. The pandemic and other factors will affect demand, the timing of the hotel’s opening, and thus, the pricing can change at any time. While the Disney hotel was set to open in 2021, nothing is yet known. The 50th-anniversary celebration for Walt Disney World will be happening in October 2021. It’s likely they’ll attempt to have the resort open by then. Work on Star Wars hotels and theme parks is something that’s been years in the making. These first glimpses are a peek at a new horizon for Star Wars at the parks.
