And now, we have a brief look at a new trailer for the upcoming new version of the epic superhero crossover.

With news of Ben Affleck returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman in a new HBO Max television series, it sounds like the actor is back in the swing of playing the Caped Crusader. It seems pretty clear that he has maintained a good relationship with Zack Snyder and it could be that he is hoping to continue on playing the role of Batman in this supposed upcoming series. Having him featured as a key part of the marketing for Zack Snyder’s Justice League could be an attempt to help raise his appeal to fans and casual audiences as the Dark Knight.
And to be fair, Ben Affleck deserves a project that allows his Bruce Wayne/Batman to shine. The actor has a deep passion for comic book characters. He wrote the foreword to Kevin Smith’s run on Daredevil and he has continuously proven himself to be a true blue fan of these characters and the worlds they inhabit. It is a genuine shame that he had to start his run as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the worst DC cinematic universe movie, and he has never had the chance to crawl back up from that mess of a movie.
Maybe Ben Affleck will have a lot more to do in Zack Snyder’s Justice League – that’s assured since this new cut will be close to 4 hours long – and what we will see from him will get folks back on board with his take on the classic comic book character. We here at Giant Freakin Robot certainly hope so. It would be a shame if Affleck’s time as the world’s greatest detective is only remembered for being in pretty bad superhero movies.
We will have to wait and see what the reaction will be to Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and if that could affect his future as Bruce Wayne/Batman. This new trailer certainly puts him at the forefront of the action and reminds viewers that he is the core of the DC cinematic universe. Superman might be the original superhero, but Batman is undoubtedly the flagship character of the DC brand. If nothing else, it will be nice to see Ben Affleck get a shot at playing Batman one last time. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time we see the actor put on the cape and cowl. We will keep our fingers crossed.
