Rudy Giuliani Becomes Borat 2’s Main Talking Point For This Reason

Rudy Giuliani is in hot water as the new film Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan depicts an interview segment with him that goes to some extremely uncomfortable places. We would like to warn anyone with sensitivity towards issues of sexual discomfort before they read this piece. Also, SPOILERS for the film will follow.
In Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Rudy Giuliani is placed in an interview scenario with the character Tutar, Borat’s daughter. In the film, Tutar is depicted as being 15 years old, although actress Maria Bakalova is 24 according to her IMDb profile. The plot of the film has Tutar deciding to give herself to Giuliani as a gift so that Kazhakstan can ingratiate itself to Donald Trump and his inner circle. However, she decides to recant and become a journalist instead.
After the interview concludes, Rudy Giuliani and Tutar move from the interview area of the hotel room they are in and move back to a bedroom area to share a drink. It is clear that Giuliani believes that Tutar wants to have sex with him, although she never explicitly says this. Giuliani sits down on the bed as Tutar removes a lapel microphone from his shirt. When she turns away, Giuliani can visibly be seen reaching his hands down his pants and touching his genital area, presumably to become aroused and expecting sex. It is at this moment that actor Sacha Baron Cohen bursts into the room as the character of Borat to break up the moment, stating, “She’s 15! She’s too old for you!”
In the context of the movie, this is all legitimately funny and awful in equal measure. Rudy Giuliani is not being coerced into anything that is actually criminal – it is never stated to him on camera what Tutar’s fake age is before Borat bursts in – but it is an undeniably creepy and gross moment considering that Giuliani is a 76-year-old man who seems perfectly fine with a potential sexual encounter with someone that is visibly young enough to be his granddaughter. Also, it is undeniably uncomfortable to see him touching himself in such an expectant way, especially since nothing explicitly sexual was propositioned to him by Bakalova.
All of this comes amidst a flurry of other issues surrounding Rudy Giuliani, who is heavily involved in the presidential election campaign. What’s doubly damning is that Giuliani admitted that he had been pranked by Cohen back in July, yet did not seem to know that the woman interviewing him was a part of the sting. It is unclear whether or not Giuliani even knew that he was being filmed after the interview had concluded, though his actions seem to suggest that he was totally unaware. And, of course, Giuliani mentioned nothing of the potential sexual encounter that he expected to engage in.
