There was plenty to love about the Disney+ series Andor, and one of the characters fans ended up loving the most was the anxious and loyal droid B2EMO, or Bee-two as he’s affectionately referred to in the series. Those who are fans of the droid will definitely want to grab the upcoming collector’s edition Blu-ray and 4K UHD release of Andor’s first season. One of the special features gives us a short spotlight on the droid and how he was made for the series.

For those who haven’t seen Andor, which is something you should remedy as soon as possible, Bee-two is the loyal droid companion of the Andor family…

In a clip for the upcoming Andor release, we learn that the creature and droid team for the series, led by supervisor Neal Scanlan, actually built Bee-two to give Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor a real droid to act alongside. As Luna says in the clip, “it’s exactly the way you see it on screen; there’s nothing added later.” In other words, there’s seemingly a working Bee-two prop somewhere, which is definitely cool to know.

For those who haven’t seen Andor, which is something you should remedy as soon as possible, Bee-two is the loyal droid companion of the Andor family, which includes Diego Luna’s titular character and his adoptive mother, Maarva (Fiona Shaw). His red color and endearing personality, along with his relationship with Cassian and Maarva, made him a quick favorite droid in the Star Wars franchise. It seems like Diego Luna has a habit of working with some of the best droids of the modern Star Wars era.

Along with the Bee-two spotlight, the collector’s edition of Star Wars: Andor: The Complete First Season also comes with a Steelbook with box art by Attila Szarka, concept art cards, and an array of other bonus features.

We first meet Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which follows the group of rebels who stole the plans for the Death Star leading up to A New Hope. In that film, Cassian’s co-pilot is the sassy and sarcastic (and badass) K-2SO (Alan Tudyk). The scene-stealing droid also became a quick favorite amongst fans.

Along with the Bee-two spotlight, the collector’s edition of Star Wars: Andor: The Complete First Season also comes with a Steelbook with box art by Attila Szarka, concept art cards, and an array of other bonus features. Those bonus features include the featurettes Ferrix Part 1: Imperial Occupation, Aldhani: Rebel Heist, Coruscant: Whispers of Rebellion, Narkina 5: One Way Out, and Ferrix Part 2: Fight the Empire.

Overall, Star Wars: Andor: The Complete First Season seems like the perfect package for fans of the show.

Ferrix Part 1 features creator Tony Gilroy, along with producer Kathleen Kennedy and star Diego Luna, discussing the origins of the series. Aldhani: Rebel Heist takes fans on the set of Andor in Scotland to give insight into VFX breakdowns, stunts, and character spotlights. Coruscant: Whispers of Rebellion gives more insight into the stories of ISB agent Dedra, Senator Mon Mothma, and spymaster Luthen Rael.

As the name might imply Narkina 5: One Way Out gives us insight into the first season’s standout prison break episode, giving us more information on the Empire’s penal system, Andy Serkis’ Kino Loy, and the VFX in the episode. Finally, Ferrix Part 2 features Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, and other cast and crew members discussing Andor’s season finale.

Overall, Star Wars: Andor: The Complete First Season seems like the perfect package for fans of the show. Get a deeper look into Bee-two and your other favorite characters when this collector’s edition drops on April 30. Also, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated on Andor Season 2.
